1. Choose ONE corporate portal and describe its nature of business AND different types of companies that collaborate with the chosen company portal earlier in the e-supply chain management system.

The corporate portal that I have chosen is FedEx. FedEx is a leading logistics services company based in the United States. FedEx is an abbreviation of the company’s original name, Federal Express. The company was founded by Fred Smith in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1971 as Federal Express. The name, Federal Express was chosen to symbolize a national marketplace. However, the name, Federal Express was replaced by a new name in 2000 which is now still known as FedEx. The tagline for FedEx is “The World on Time”.
FedEx is a worldwide network of companies that provide customers and businesses the flexibility and specialized services. Both of these contributions represent the transportation, wide selection of supply chain, business services and e-commerce. Other than just being a worldwide network of companies, FedEx also plays a part of transportation powerhouse FedEx Corporation. Besides that, FedEx offers business applications through its operating companies under the FedEx brand.
